"Remarkable weather we are having for this time of year..."

Image
"Do you not think so, Cuthbert ?" So, after a couple of days looking at somewhat melting snow (the above picture) , we had this extraordinary storm pass by! Speaking of which....it's still raining! =) And then, after a few bouts of rain, running through it to shut the chickens up, and then getting all comfortable sitting by the fire chatting, it started to hail!! How crazy can this weather get? I'm just waiting to see if a tornado's going to pass through! The hailstones are the size of peas!! Slightly on the bigish side!! And since I cannot just leave a post with just weather... (which it seems like that's ALL I've posted about) I'll go ahead and share with y'all what the kids and I threw togther on Friday! Can you guess yet?!? Next month is St. Patrick's Day....so that calls for some decoration changes! It's so much fun to decorate just a small part of the house with festive stuff that's so easy and things the kids love to do! Finshe...

Snow is a good thing...right?!?!?

So, after being all happy go lucky about the rain.....we got a winter warning yesterday....yup! We have MORE snow!! I suppose the good thing about snow would be how extremely beautiful and perfect it can look! God sure can make it look extra special when He places the sun in the sky making it glisten as if it were glass!! The above picture is our chicken coop...and yes, I forgot to turn the light off last night! My bad....but I haven't done the chickens in FOREVER!! So, I guess that's a good excuse.....eh? *grins* Yes, one can take pictures while going to feed the geese! My snow covered work boots..... And so ends another very random post in my crazy life!! Sorry if some of those pictures are blurry, I had to use our little digital camera due to our nicer one being out of the house. It's still a Canon though!! {inset HUGE cheeky grin at all my Nikon friends} Y'all come back now, ya hear?!?!

"The rain is fallin' on my window pane.."

At least is was yesterday! It first started to rain frozen pellets out of that cloudy sky. But after I came back from a few errands, rain started to pour out of the heavens!! Praising God for the wonderful refreshment He poured down upon us! Yes, I know.....very short and random! But, I thought some people might want to know...this would be the FIRST rain I've seen since last year!! *excitement* Which means Spring is very near!!! {insert smile} Now that I know that, I can finally WAIT patiently for it to come round! *goes off singing "Wildflower"* Y'all come back now, ya hear?!?!

Happy Winds-Day!

Hope y'all are having a splendid Wednesday!! =) Y'all come back now, ya hear?!?!? {insert grin}

"We're having a party..."

Image
"a party or two!" So, this past Saturday, Jessica and I attended a birthday party for a young girl who has grown up into such a young lady! It was a simply lovely party and we had a marvelous time exchanging stories of our younger days! Below is a picture my dad took of me...yeah, the colours clash, but it was incredibly GORGEOUS outside!! So, I peeled potatoes out on the deck! =) The table was set with beautiful flowers! And of course the food was overflowing! The birthday girl and her dear friend! How many girls can one fit on a couch? Mrs. Ryken started the party out with a lovely devotion! Very encouraging to all... Okay, so I couldn't help but get some pictures of those delicious flowers! Art The food line Happy girls! And the Birthday girl, herself! Desert Sharing some of the letters a bunch of people wrote to Jesi . Happy Birthday, Jesi ! I pray you had a brilliant time! And now for our Belated Valentine's Day party! Jessica, Marie...

We Band of Homeschoolers...

Image
"We few, we (not so) happy few....." Are you wondering what we weren't happy about? Let me start by saying that "few" is an understatement. Tuesday morning, at least 4,000 homeschoolers gathered at the state Capitol Tuesday morning to make it known that we were not happy with a bill they were trying to pass called SB 136. Below, Jess and I stop for a picture together! I realize we look happy, but it's just an illusion. What do you know? Other people do this too!!! They wouldn't allow any more families to come in due to the fire safety regulations (even though there were empty seats available)! As you can tell, we filled the place up! Someone was rather tired! I'd say 5 in the morning for a youngster is a bit early to be up! The hall-ways, as you can tell, were jam packed with people. And this was just some from our group! The other half.... The best part of the whole event was the singing. That's right, I said singing! We started out singing th...
